Morning Thoughts…
Good morning… It’s definitely a blessing to see another day, you know? In the mornings typically, I like to get up early, before sunrise and sit in silence. It’s something about sitting in silence that’s soothing to my spirit. It gives me a chance to process things, explore new ideas, take personal inventory and then write down the entire process onto paper. Within that meditating time, I realized that there are more unwarranted thoughts that pop into my mind. They pop into my mind all the time but they are significantly louder when I’m sitting still and being quiet. What I have been doing with a lot of those thoughts is, ignore them. I’ve learned over the last couple of years to just watch the thoughts whizz by and don’t even acknowledge them. Especially the bad ones. You typically know the bad ones by how they make you feel when they flash across the screen of your mind. Some thoughts stay longer than others. Some come and go in an instant and then there’s the ones I call “Long-tailed” thoughts. Those are the thoughts that when they flash across that mental picture in your mind, they stay for an elongated period of time. Now, most of these “long-tailed” thoughts are negative. I’m still unpacking why that is but that’s another post for another day, but when these long-tailed thoughts occur, and it’s a negative one, it is important to have the discernment to first realize that the thought is not even real in the first place, and two: Create such a mental discipline and toughness by not agreeing to the negative thought that you think. Don’t even acknowledge it. Because if you do, you are going to be toying around with that thought for God know how long, warring with yourself because you want to believe it but that’s not what God believes about you. It’s what you shouldn’t believe about yourself. Writing down those thoughts on to paper, no matter what it is, is very therapeutic. Journaling how you feel about those thoughts are key to helping you figure out more about yourself and it also helps you heal if you are mentally or emotionally hurting from a particular situation.
However, the “Long-tailed” thoughts that are positive? That’s another story. Those are the thoughts that you should entertain the most. For obvious reasons of course, writing down those positive thoughts and ideas is the perfect ammunition for shortening those long-tailed negative thoughts and ideas. The more you think about the thoughts that bring you the most happiness… the more you can appreciate your surroundings and the abundance flowing into your life on a daily basis and being grateful and thankful for everything in your life, only then will that take up so much of your mental time and attention, that you will eventually stop getting those negative thoughts so often because they won’t ever stop showing up, let me just keep it real with you.
I like to think of thoughts as people. All thoughts. Negative, positive and anything thing in between. And my mind is my house. Every thought that comes into my mind, knock on the door to my heart and I have to make a choice on wether or not I want that particular thought to come in and hang out for a while because if I hang out with it long enough, it is going to start to consume my space and effect me in ways that can either hurt me or help me.
Protect your heart, always. Be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself and then you will continue to draw those good thoughts to mind. Fall in love with those ideas that bring you the most joy. Fall in love with the feeling of already having what you’ve been asking for in complete confidence that it’s going to show up to you.
I hope something good happens to you today :)
Much Love ❤️

STARTED…
Everyday, new ideas float into people’s minds all over the world. But yet in still, there are millions of people who are stuck in one place and are often afraid to begin on an idea that they have that they really believe in and it’s really difficult for them to just START. Starting something sounds like an easy task but it is extremely difficult when you are constantly always in your head about decisions you have to make or already have made. So why is it so hard to start? How does one even break through that wall of fear of apprehension or procrastination even, in order to achieve their goals. I wrestle with this concept on a day to day basis. Mostly due in part to me caring a great deal about what other people think. But after awhile, if you’re lucky I would say that you begin to develop the awareness of what in fact is making you stuck. I believe that most of it is internal. A lot of people don’t even fully recognize their own worth and so they tend to get stagnant because of the negative ideas and emotions that are swirling in their mind. Negative thoughts that is more than likely placed into their minds by someone else. Someone who probably heard your ideas or ambitions and goals and were intimidated by the mere fact of the magnitude of the vision and your passion for it. And if you are fortunate enough to love yourself enough to want to push through and get after it, you want to just START. Start now. Take baby steps. Go at your own pace but just START. If it’s a new business or career or a new job or relationship, more money, more friends, whatever it is that you want, trust and believe that you are already the living manifestation of that dream and begin to turn the key on the ignition of the vehicle that is waiting to take you to your dreams. Whether it’s learning a new skill, reading more books, calling people more or even conquering addictions of all sorts and kinds. You can’t get to where you’re going without starting and I try my best to live by that but I must admit, sometimes it’s really difficult to see past the clouds of negativity and fear but when you begin to get a good momentum going on whatever it is that you are trying to achieve, you will in no doubt arrive at that destination. You have to be consistent, disciplined and have a relentless pursuit of the things that you wish to have in your life that will bring the most happiness. That’s what I’m trying to do on a daily basis, get better, stay focused and work hard on the vision and stay the course because I have much more to live for. I have a son that I have to be there for and groom to be a better version of myself while still allowing him to be himself. I must admit, there was a point where I felt so stuck, that I thought I wouldn’t be able to just get up out of the bed, let alone START anything…but yet and still, God continued to pour ideas and concepts into my heart and I know that he was calling me to be greater than what I was showing at that moment but sometimes, well…most times, it’s just a lesson that you need to learn. It took me some time to grasp that concept, but once I did, I began to get going on some things I was passionate about but didn’t have the confidence to even begin, but when you learn to love yourself and pour into yourself on a daily basis, those desires begin to start pouring out of you. The scripture says that “My cup runneth over” but it can’t “Run” Until you start to pour into yourself with such an abundantly heavy hand, the cup starts to spill over. With that analogy still in mind, the first instinct would, naturally be to find another cup to pour into…and you can’t give to others until you yourself until you begin to start looking for other “Cups” those “cups” being other people. Family members and friends, co-workers and more! Doesn’t that thought feel good? To have so much that you have to start giving things away? Look at that, another thing to “Start” but you can’t get there until you start on yourself. Go, start on you today because it all “Starts” with you anyway. ”Faith without works is dead” and you can’t start to work your faith without putting that first foot forward.
Today, I am motivated by my son, Elijah. He is the source of where I get to turn the key to the imaginative engine that I have been trying to turn for so long. I knew on a deeper level, that having that extra incentive to not only provide for him but to set an example on what it looks like to be passionate about your gifts and use those gifts to help bring value to others in order to live a life that allows us to spend more time together. That’s why you build or create wealth, in my opinion. You build it so that you have more time worrying about where you’re gonna have dinner or a trip with your family and friends and not have to worry about a bill. That’s what makes me happy. Being able to help my family and friends. But you don’t start for the financial gain. That was another mistake I made early on in my life. You do things because you’re passionate about them. When I was acting, There was so much pressure that came with being in the arts that people tend to think that you have to be some big time Hollywood star and after while, I started to listen to those ideas and it made me make some irrational decisions in my life. Only because I started chasing other people’s ideas of what it meant to be an “Actor” when all I wanted to do was get better at my craft and when things don’t go as great as you anticipate and you don’t have the success you may have thought you had, you can start to fall into a place of regret and it does nothing but dampen the light that was intend to shine. I started to slowly get back into the arts, but it has definitely been a slow crawl to say the least. But at least I’m starting. I’m starting to get addicted to starting and even more so, getting addicted to FINISHING!
Finishing what you start is easy to get left out of the conversation but the feeling of finishing something that you set out to do is and should be the real chase. Remember to always finish what you start.. And if you have a hard time finishing, just remember that seeing it through to the end, no matter the outcome is totally predicated on how good you are going to feel once you accomplish it. The one thing that I love the most about running a marathon is when you cross the Finishline and they put that medal around your neck. It ranks up there for me as one of the best feelings in world to experience. Not because you finish running an absurd distance of 26.2 miles, but everything you’ve had to endure along the way to get to the Finishline is what makes the finish totally worth it. All the times you wanted to stop. All the times you wanted to quit. All the times when your body started to cramp up and your mind starts to talk you out of what you’re doing like “What are we doing out here?” “Who’s idea was this in the first place??” lol that’s a good one. But I say all of that to say, you have to endure to the end, no matter what the situation looks like, because you have to focus on winning the prize. Reaching the goal and remembering WHY you want the things you want and desire the things that you do, because God has placed a gift inside of you that is able to help you accomplish the things that you want because he knows that will bring you the most happiness and there’s nothing more motivating than that because your gift is to be given away and finishing what you start is the ultimate victory.
