The Level Up..
Wassup y’all? A lot has been changing in my life and I must say that I love it. A few months ago, I stumbled upon this store front in jersey city called ‘JERSEY SHIRTKINGS’ and I was led to go into this place because I needed help with an order I had for a client of mine. The gentleman who greeted me was none other than Jerome “Double J” Jenkins. We immediately struck up a conversation and not only did he help me with my order, long story short, he ended up becoming my mentor and allowing me to work and operate my company “Goodness and Mercy” at his store.
So, how did I manage to build a trusted relationship so fast? One that is producing revenue for both parties to exist? One is trust, the other is a willingness to learn from someone who has more longevity in the field that you are currently in and thirdly, the perfect timing alongside the competency to have the humility talk walk in eager to learn. And that’s why I’ve been doing for the last 90 days and now I’m at the shop, 120 Danforth Ave. in Jersey city, NJ. I really can’t believe that I have a place where I can go and work and have the freedom to continue to run my business while helping Jerome with his all while being able to have a mentee position and learn so I can be better. Jerome is 15yrs my senior and has been doing for 15 years, what I have been doing for only one year. So, I want to say that God is good and he always directs your paths. I would drive past Jerome’s store often, being that it was literally around the corner from where I used to live.
Mira funny how the world works, isn’t it? I’ve been grinding for a year and now this situation feels like I’m taking a huge step in the right direction and it has been nothing but a blessing to be in this position. It really is a level up for me and I’m excited to have the wisdom and understanding to realize a great opportunity when I see it and be able to give back to whoever is pouring into me and supporting my endeavors. Isn’t that what all relationships and partnerships and friendships should be like? I sure do think so.
Till next time, much Love,
Jermy
My bad..
What’s good y’all??? I just want to say that I am glad to be back to writing and there has been plenty to write about these days. Things are just happening in my life that are moving at warp speed and it’s been a fantastic ride thus far between business, personal life, family life and so much more. It’s like one great thing happens and it just positively infects the other areas of my life and I am extremely grateful and thankful for that. I am also extremely thankful and grateful for all of you that has supported ‘Goodness and Mercy’ for the last year. There are some exciting things that are happening that I will announce later but things are definitely looking up and I can’t wait to fill you all in, once it’s ready.
In the meantime, I hope you guys have been doing great and I hope that you have been actively in pursuit of becoming the best version of yourselves. It’s important to note here, that it takes a great deal of intuition and courage to lean into things that feel right and comfortably walk through doors that open within the flow of the abundance that currently flowing through your life. I pray that you become all that you can be and that you remember that you always have everything you need. Much Love.

“All Money In”
Building a company from the ground up is not that hard. Yes, it requires a ton of time and attention, not to mention a great deal of discipline. But most importantly, it requires money. Now, what is your perception of money? Leave a comment below and tell me what you think, but in my opinion, my time is my money. It’s actually my inventory. This allows me to see money from a different point of view. It reveals to me that what I spend the most time on, is actually me, spending “money” on the things I enjoy the most, Not what I have enough money to do…you have the “money” you just don’t “spend” it on the things that really make you happy. And if that concept or idea or business or drawing or invention or anything that has been floating in your mind that you have now grown an emotional attachment to but have not put the physical energy or effort to do, you should, in my opinion, re-examine that notion and look within yourself to really ask the deeper questions on whats really holding you back from fully investing all of that “Inventory” on what you love. The things that bring you joy and great satisfaction.
I pray that if there is anybody out there like myself, who continues to learn how to push through and not be afraid to do what you love in spite of what others may think or say about you, I pray that you breakthrough today and have an open mind to look at a different way of helping you get what you want. If in fact you want to change. But that’s a blog for another day.
So spend that “money” on learning something new, spend some time to educate yourself and live in that world that’s been inside of your mind through meditation and visualization. Read articles, find podcasts, google things, look around, be curious, download an app and learn how to use it. Not as a “social media” thing but as an actual “tool” so that you can find others that are interested in the same things as you and just be a star in that world that you live in. But it’s about what you’re spending your time on. I totally understand If you still need to work to make ends meet. But I still think there is no room for excuses in that regard. Write down notes and game plan throughout the work day. During work breaks, are you gossiping at the water cooler or are you watching videos or reading books while you eat? When you get off of work, how much “money” are you spending on the things that you’ve been thinking about? When I was serving at restaurants to make ends meet, every chance I got, I was writing notes and jotting ideas down in my server notepad. There was a time where I had more things written down for my future than actual orders (which is probably why I got fired all those times lol) but this train of thought allows me to be consumed at whatever it is or was that I’m into at the time. When I was acting, it was all I could think about. Studying, reading, looking for monologues to recite and buying acting books and going to acting class. I had a job at that time but all I did was spend whatever money I “Worked” for and it just magnified and made what I truly loved, that much more enjoyable.
This is not a “quit your job” post, but it is important to know, that you can work and follow your dreams at the same time. But, he more you follow your dreams, the less you’ll have to work.
Thank you so much for checking out my website and I hope that I was able to be of some value to you. Til next time, Much Love.
