Before anyone else…
There’s YOU.
Always you.
Before the world pulls you in fifty directions, before responsibilities crowd your mind, before anybody gets a piece of your time or energy — you come first.
My name is Jermy, and I appreciate you for taking a moment to read these words from my heart. I really do hope God continues to make His presence felt in your life — not in loud, dramatic ways, but in those quiet moments where you suddenly feel seen, held, and guided. I pray you prosper in every way that matters… even as your soul prospers.
If there’s one thing this journey has taught me, it’s the power of self-awareness.
Not the Instagram version. Not the “positive vibes only” performance.
I mean the real kind — the kind you earn through honesty, stillness, and choosing to grow.
Self-awareness is what keeps you grounded when your emotions want to take the wheel. It’s what keeps you centered when other people’s moods try to leak into your spirit. It’s what helps you make decisions based on wisdom, not impulse. And trust me, when you learn to stay centered — when you can hear your own voice over the noise — your whole life changes.
Because the truth is simple:
You can’t pour into anyone if you’re empty.
You can’t love anybody well if you abandon yourself.
And you can’t walk in your purpose if you keep shrinking to fit someone else’s story.
So today, remember this:
Before anyone else… choose you.
Not selfishly — but sacredly.
Because choosing yourself is how you stay aligned with God, with peace, and with the person you’re becoming.
Much love,
Jermy
The Level Up..
Wassup y’all? A lot has been changing in my life and I must say that I love it. A few months ago, I stumbled upon this store front in jersey city called ‘JERSEY SHIRTKINGS’ and I was led to go into this place because I needed help with an order I had for a client of mine. The gentleman who greeted me was none other than Jerome “Double J” Jenkins. We immediately struck up a conversation and not only did he help me with my order, long story short, he ended up becoming my mentor and allowing me to work and operate my company “Goodness and Mercy” at his store.
So, how did I manage to build a trusted relationship so fast? One that is producing revenue for both parties to exist? One is trust, the other is a willingness to learn from someone who has more longevity in the field that you are currently in and thirdly, the perfect timing alongside the competency to have the humility talk walk in eager to learn. And that’s why I’ve been doing for the last 90 days and now I’m at the shop, 120 Danforth Ave. in Jersey city, NJ. I really can’t believe that I have a place where I can go and work and have the freedom to continue to run my business while helping Jerome with his all while being able to have a mentee position and learn so I can be better. Jerome is 15yrs my senior and has been doing for 15 years, what I have been doing for only one year. So, I want to say that God is good and he always directs your paths. I would drive past Jerome’s store often, being that it was literally around the corner from where I used to live.
Mira funny how the world works, isn’t it? I’ve been grinding for a year and now this situation feels like I’m taking a huge step in the right direction and it has been nothing but a blessing to be in this position. It really is a level up for me and I’m excited to have the wisdom and understanding to realize a great opportunity when I see it and be able to give back to whoever is pouring into me and supporting my endeavors. Isn’t that what all relationships and partnerships and friendships should be like? I sure do think so.
Till next time, much Love,
Jermy
