little by little…

One thing that I’ve come to realize since creating ‘Goodness and Mercy’ is that you have to do things at your own pace. I like to take my time. As much as I am someone who loves to do things fast and, I am also learning how to have patience that runs just as long, of not longer than my fast pace at life. It almost seems like an oxymoron to a certain degree. Mainly because people have general grouped “Moving fast” with a lack of patience and I believe that you can love a life by this theory. Just because the race is a marathon, doesn’t mean that I can manage to run just as far. It as fast as I can push my body to pull it off.
I love everything about my brand. I love the life that it affords me to live and I love waking up everyday to do what I love, and that is create and build a brand that will stand long enough for my grandchildren to have it handed down to them. That’s what this is about, in addition to being able to do what you love every day. But it’s to have a foundation that you can build centuries of generational wealth. I do not want to work for someone my entire life and risk getting fired. I don’t do well with being in a workplace where I am replaceable. It’s not a good feeling at all and I pray that no one has to experience that. But you don’t have to, if you’re willing to sacrifice and put in the work to live the life that you truly want to live.

Things at the Goodness and Mercy Brand has been great. I am truly happy and grateful that God has allowed me to find my path to the life I want to live and I am so appreciative of all the love and support. Thank you to everyone who has bought merch. I started this company a week after the pandemic began and it had truly been a blessing. A blessing because it came with a learning curve. A learning curve that I had to adjust to, because sometimes you can talk yourself out of things. Especially if it’s something you may perceive to be a large goal or ambition. It’s important to know that you can do it. YOU. CAN. DO. IT. You just have to do it little by little and stay focused on the work. If you stay focused on the work, the result is sure the follow. Much Love. ❤️

I been workin…

It seems like forever since I’ve lasted posted but a lot has been going on and I’m really glad that things are finally starting to roll. ‘Goodness and Mercy’ is like a baby that’s just learning to walk and wants to run fast and I’m really excited about where the brand is going and it’s only been 3 months! God is truly great and I’m thankful for all of you that had purchased merch. It’s allowing me to do cool things with my son who is here for the summer and I’m truly grateful for being able to have that quality time with him and it’s because of every shirt that you bought that I’m able to have that time, so I thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🖤

I’m going to be a guest on the “Podcariously @ Odds” Podcast that will be lives streamed on YouTube. Be sure to check it out this Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 at 9PM EST! We’ll be talking about relationships and what’s been going on with me and my life. I can’t wait and I hope you all check it out!

Other than that, I’ve been working on building an inventory of tees for Goodness and Mercy and I’m already able to supply a full size run in three different styles..

“Black and Beautiful” (BLK/WHT) SZ: S-XL

“Black and Beautiful” (BLK/WHT) SZ: S-XL

“Praying Woman” $25 (BLK/WHT) SZ: S-XL

“Beauty and Brains” $25 (BLK/GOLD) SZ: S-XL

“Beauty and Brains” $25 (BLK/GOLD) SZ: S-XL

So, these are the first run of shirts that are solely produced by myself. I make each one by hand and it’s about a 20min average to make each shirt from start to finish. So each one means a lot to me and it’s an honor that people want to wear what I created. I started this company when the pandemic started as a way to make some income while I was unemployed and now I’m working for myself…funny how God works things out, right? I’ve always had the desire to make t-shirts but it took having to be sat down in quarantine and isolated from the world to spark something that has been nothing but a blessing and would not have happened if I had not taken the chance on myself.

Its hard to trust in God when you are insecure about yourself. It’s important that you don’t live with the regret of NOT taking the chance to do something that you will truly be passionate about and excited to get up in the morning about. ThEn being able to own that experience and pass it down to your kids. All the while helping your community grow and come closer together. That’s the mission.

If you would like to purchase a shirt, please email me: goodnessandmercybrand@gmail.com

thanks so much guys, I gotta go but I’ll be back with another update! Believe in yourself and my God keep you. I pray that Goodness and Mercy follows you all the days of your life, much love. ❤️

Quality time..

I love spending time with my son. I love his energy and his willingness to solve problems, wether the ideas are good or bad he’s always suggesting things and always taking initiative and it really makes me proud as his father to know that he is displaying characteristics that will be key benefactors to who he becomes as a man in the future. Its my responsibility to cultivate that in him, early. It’s a blessing, really. I’m justy in awe of him and I’m grateful to have this time with him this summer.

Fatherhood is great. I love being a father. Some may try to downplay the role of a father, especially in the african-American community and there are a lot of fathers that get a bad rap for whatever reason, but thing is for sure, the fathers who make it a point to be in the their children’s lives, deserve that chance. But I find that I am a part of a group of people who believe that there can be a change to that perception and to break that generational curse that has dismantled families, for years. I can’t speak for fathers of times past, but I can do my part to reader the negative stigma that can be bestowed upon black men as a whole.

As a parent, we don’t always get it right. I mean, I’m still trying to figure things out myself. But I’m blessed to have been given the opportunity to be a father. God chose me and gave me the responsibility of molding this young man to be the very best person that God called him to be. All while working through all of my personal stuff. As parents, we put so much of our own personal loves to the side so that we can provide for our children, but how can one balance the responsibility of parenthood all while still pursuing our dreams and passions? That’s something I’m still learning to do. I’ve made a great deal of mistakes but I have a lot of victories, too. I’m just glad that I learned from the mistakes and it’s made me a better father but also a better person and in a lot of ways, a better businessman. In business, you have to be patient but you also have to be stern. In addition to being compassionate and displaying a great deal of empathy.
So, today is for all of the parents out there, but especially the fathers. May you continue to shine and be great fathers for yourself kids and for yourself. Let’s continue to break down these curses and raise our children to the best of our abilities with God guiding us the entire way. God bless you guys and I pray that something great happens to you. Much Love ❤️ -Jermy
